For .6 Million, Datalink Buys Midwave

(The Hosting News) – Data center-solutions company Datalink recently expanded its operations by buying Midwave, another data center solutions provider specializing in optimization. DataLink revealed the $ 17.6 million dollar move in a company press release on Monday.

Midwave is headquartered in Minnesota.

Commenting on the matter, DataLink President and CEO Paul Lidsky stated, “Our expanded footprint in the Twin Cities makes us the dominant data center services and infrastructure provider in the region.”

“This acquisition doubles our Cisco technology and services revenues, expands our managed services portfolio with the addition of a data center infrastructure monitoring service, adds an established security practice including product, services and consulting and doubles the size of our consulting services team,” he continued.

Besides simply acquiring Midwave, DataLink is also now responsible for “selected liabilities.”

The transition means a new role for Midwave CEO Jim Leslie. Leslie, who expressed optimism regarding the acquisition, will assume the role of Executive VP of Strategy and Business Development at Datalink.

Meanwhile, the move also has an effect on DataLink’s annual financial statistics. While providing for more than 400 workers, the company expects to finish this year with a “run rate” of over $ 400 million dollars.

Listed among its data center services, Datalink provides for virtualization, disaster recovery, storage, security, and more. For more information, view the Datalink press release at: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=65517&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1612483&highlight=
